My entire life has been spent alternately in one of two modes:
- one in which I read both CUPID and CPUID as CUPID
- another in which I read both CUPID and CPUID as CPUID
Probably because the two terms have a very low edit distance, I always find myself subconsciously assuming one is a misspelling of the other. Context should of course dictate, but that doesn’t kick in until after my misspelling alarm bells have already begun sounding.
